Merritt College alumni Virtual Murrell, along with Bobby Seale, created the FIRST Black Studies program - and that took place at Merritt College!
We are honored to welcome Virtual Murrell as part of the Barbara Lee and Elihu Harris Lecture Series:

Saturday, September 16th
7pm
Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale Student Lounge, #MerrittCollege
Mr. Murrell is a dynamic leader, political figure, author, and expert historian of East Bay politics. He's a former member of the #BlackPantherParty for Self Defense and he has spent over six decades organizing in countless efforts to preserve and protect #democracy.
It is interesting to note that Mr. Murrell began his life’s work as an organizer while a student at Merritt College in the 1960s. It is fitting he returns to Merritt for this lecture.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, September 16th.
