"War of the Flea: The Fight for Xicano Studies" Film Screening w/ Director @ BCC, Sept. 27 @ 12:30pm
A real life David vs. Goliath story, War of the Flea (preview) documents an eight-year struggle during the 1990s that led to the creation of a Xicano Studies program at Michigan State University. Through relentless organizing, direct action, and persistence, students and community members fought and ultimately succeeded in establishing one of the first Xicano/Latino Studies programs at a Big 10 university.
