On Thursday, May 23, Chancellor Tammeil Gilkerson met with community leaders from the Oakland Rotary No. 3 and the Lake Merritt Breakfast Club. On May 13, Chancellor Tammeil Gilkerson served as a judge on a panel of a “Shark Tank"-style business competition called “DreamLaunch.” Students from across the district participated by presenting innovative business ideas, which were refined through a series of workshops leading to a final presentation.

The Peralta Online Equity Rubric was developedat the district prior to the pandemic, whichdrove instruction online. The Equity Rubricis used around the world, and by the UC system closer to home, to help design equitable online classes. The thought leadership that went into creating the Equity Rubric continues with the annual Peralta Online Equity Conference, now in its fourth year.
