Founded in 1965 as a class at Merritt College, Prometheus Symphony Orchestra became an independent not-for-profit organization in 1979 with an all–volunteer ensemble

The orchestra is playing Beethoven's 8th Symphony in F Major, his penultimate symphony and it features all sorts of fun inside musical jokes. They will juxtapose this work with some Debussy, and Czech composer Janáček.
