CoA ADAM Program students were featured in the 2022 Designer Showcase at Fibershed’s Rooted in Simplicity event, on September 17, 2022, at the Fibershed Learning Center in Point Reyes, California. ADAM students Chi Do and Lina Egutkina participated in an innovative workshop that focused on making indigo dye vats at the Fibershed Learning Center in June 2022.

The first-ever Peralta Charrette was a huge success. We really appreciate the approximately 200 community members who participated for taking the time to register, attend, and share their thoughts and concerns as the Peralta Community College District (PCCD) works on our five-year strategic plan and the Peralta Colleges – Berkeley City College, College of Alameda, Laney College, and Merritt College – work on their educational master plans.

OAKLAND, Calif., November 16, 2022 – Course registration fees are being waived for the Spring 2023 semester at all four of the colleges within the Peralta Community College District (PCCD) in the East Bay: Berkeley City College, College of Alameda, Laney College, and Merritt College. The fee waiver is available to all California residents – documented and undocumented – who complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). There is no minimum course credit requirement.

Mid-Semester Professional Day Focuses on Educational Master Plan
On October 19, 2022, College of Alameda held a well-attended mid-semester Professional Day, with over 80 students, faculty, classified professionals, and administrators attending in person and 78 online. The College had a robust agenda filled with workshops and trainings for faculty and classified professionals.

Alameda, CA – November xx, 2022 — All qualified College of Alameda (CoA) students can enroll in Spring Semester 2023 classes free of charge. In addition to free classes, CoA majors enrolled in six or more units also will receive a $500 cash grant that they can spend on books, supplies, or other expenses. CoA is one of the few California community colleges to offer a combination of free classes and cash grants for qualified students for the Spring 2023 Semester. (Some restrictions do apply.)

College of Alameda Aviation Outreach at Hayward Executive Airport

CoA Aviation Maintenance Training program was invited to participate in Hayward Executive Airport’s Open House Salute To Veterans & First Responders on September 11th. Esther Cheng, AMT facility supervisor, along with 14 student volunteers of the aviation maintenance program tabled on this special day for the outreach opportunity. Students were excited to share their AMT experiences with all who were interested. In addition, student volunteers took turns walking around the event with a large aviation flag answering questions and directing individuals to our booth so that Esther can give more details about our college.
