Peralta Authors Featured in CSU Fullerton’s​ "LIFT Your Voice" Spring 2024 Issue

The Peralta Colleges were well-represented in the March 2024 issue of "LIFT your Voice”, a publication of the Leadership Institute for Tomorrow at Cal State Fullerton, which aims to impact higher-education systems and communities by developing a new generation of diverse, confident, and competent leaders with the change agency to reconstruct community colleges, universities, and organizations into just, equitable, and inclusive institutions free of racism.

Artist and former BCC Student Kimberly Cross’s work is on display as part of the “What Would You Say? - Activist Graphics from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art” exhibit at the Vincent Price Art Museum at the East Los Angeles College campus in Monterey Park.

Merritt is proud to recognize the success of one of its Alums: Ms. Brandi Howard. Last week, Ms. Howard was selected as the new President and CEO of the East Bay Community Foundation (EBCF).

How do you feel when you talk to a counselor that knows exactly what you are going through? How do you feel when you find out that your counselor is an immigrant like you? Fatima Shah is a Pakistani woman who immigrated to the United States with her family when she was still a teenager. Fatima went to Berkeley High School, applied for Berkeley City College, became a student employee, and now she has been serving her community as a general counselor at BCC.  

On Thursday, March 25, 2021, the Peralta Colleges Foundation held a virtual event and auction March Madness: Race Toward Building Careers. The incredibly successful event raised $30,000 to be used for student scholarships.

When Laney College’s football was featured on the Netflix Series ‘Last Chance U’, it was a great opportunity to share with the world Coach John Beam's impressive program and the care the Laney coaches, faculty and staff have for students. It was the players that were the stars of the show: there were a number individual stories that couldn’t help but stand out.
