Last week the Laney College Women's Track & Field Team opened the season at the Jim Linthicum Invite in Cupertino. With a new group of Freshman competitors, this was the first collegiate meet for many of the team, starting a new era at Laney College.

The Peralta Community College District has been engaged in negotiations since May 2022 with our faculty union, the Peralta Federation of Teachers (PFT). We want to provide the community with an update on these negotiations and provide some key context on a few important issues.
Merritt Child Development Center Groundbreaking
On Wednesday, February 1, Merritt College held the Child Development Center Groundbreaking to mark the first day of construction for our amazing new building. In partnership with the PCCD Department of General Services, the event allowed for our district and community leaders to join us in celebrating this momentous occasion.
Laney College: Reaching Out Across the Bay
In 2023, Laney continues to act on the realization that it needs to go out into the community so that the community will attend Laney. Over the past few months, Dr. Lawrence Vanhook has taken on a community outreach role that has had the College present in various parts of Oakland, while the efforts of countless others have Laney telling its story and promoting opportunities that come with a college education in new places.
Spring Semester Is Off to a Great Start with Welcome Week at CoA
College of Alameda kicked off Spring Semester 2023 with a series of informative and inviting Welcome Week activities. The series of events was a team effort with many departments pitching in to provide support and resources, including Financial Aid, Admissions and Records, Puente, Associated Students of CoA (ASCOA), UMOJA, SALAAM, ACCESO, Health Services, the Library, and Learning Resources.
ACCJC Reaffirms Berkeley City College’s Accreditation
Berkeley City College is proud to announce that on Thursday, January 26, President Angélica Garcia received communication from the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACCJC, or the Commission) reaffirming accreditation for Berkeley City College and its sister colleges in the Peralta Community College District.

"It's that time of year again: Outdoor Track and Field is upon us and Merritt College Tracksters opened up this past Friday/Saturday at De Anza College with some sparkling efforts in the cold, wind, and sometimes rain—quite a change from last year's early season weather. I have two videos below: 1) Amelia Liao in the 100m hurdles and 2) a compilation video of many of the Merritt competitors.
Those visiting 900 Fallon Street over the past couple months have seen a campus that is open and promoting opportunities for both school and career. Whether it is hosting a visit with a community partner or putting on open-house style events, not even inclement weather can stop the true Eagle Spirit that has driven the College through its transformational 2022-23 school year.
College of Alameda's Puente Project celebrated its third Annual Puente Noche de Familia (Family Night) on November 9, 2022, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Pier 29 Waterfront Restaurant in Alameda.
