The Peralta Colleges Foundation hosted its annual “Dr. William (Bill) Riley Swing for Student Success Golf Tournament” on Monday, June 6, 2026, at the Richmond Golf Club, bringing together community members, sponsors, volunteers, and students for a highly successful day of fundraising.
The event featured more than 80 golfers enjoying the beautiful 18-hole course, all rallying behind a shared mission to support Peralta Community College District students. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of participants and donors, the tournament raised approximately $130,000.

Peralta District Chancellor Dr. Tammeil Gilkerson expressed immense pride in the community's collective effort and the ultimate impact the event will have on student resources.
"What a day! We had over 80 golfers participating, supported by sponsors and volunteers out on the beautiful 18-hole course, and a great time was had by all," Chancellor Gilkerson said. "We raised approximately $130 thousand dollars for students."

The tournament’s remarkable success was made possible through the support of numerous generous sponsors, including NetXperts, Future Flooring Group, Alten Construction, Piper Sandler, Diligence Security Group, Noll & Tam, and Kitchell, among many others. Many thanks to Foundation development manager Margie Platero and the organizing committee, which included tournament namesake Dr. Bill Riley, Mahari Wise, and Gail Pendleton. And of course, thank you to the many voluteers who helped make it a wonderful day!
