Competing in the fiercely competitive Bay Valley Conference, the College of Alameda secured an impressive #24 seed, facing off against College of the Redwoods in the playoffs before advancing to battle San Jose.

Berkeley City College welcomed Chancellor Tammeil Gilkerson and the PCCD Board of Trustees to showcase BCC for the February 25 Board of Trustees Meeting. President Denise Richardson, along with other BCC leaders, led a tour of campus and provided updates on programs and services.

One-Stop Saturday to Ready Students, Community for New Semester
The community is invited to Laney’s January 18 One-Stop Saturday, which will provide students with comprehensive services to prepare for a successful semester. Scheduled from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on the Laney Campus in Building A, the event will allow students to select classes and register prior to the January 21 start of the Spring semester.

In the month of October, Merritt College held a series of events that reflect the rich and diverse culture and history that we are so blessed to have here. On October 15, we had our Black Panther Day Brunch to commemorate the 58th Anniversary of the founding of the Party.
Laney, OUSD Hold Well-Attended Manufacturing Day
On Thursday, October 10, Laney College welcomed 200 high school students from the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) for OUSD Manufacturing Day. The event took place in partnership with OUSD, the City of Oakland’s Economic and Workforce Development Office, and a wealth of industry leaders that included Brimstone, DOER, ERG Aerospace, and Gatorade/PepsiCo.
