Northern California Regional Playoffs
The Men’s Basketball Team delivered an electrifying season, demonstrating relentless dedication both on and off the court. Competing in the fiercely competitive Bay Valley Conference, the College of Alameda secured an impressive #24 seed, facing off against College of the Redwoods in the playoffs before advancing to battle San Jose. While the journey didn’t culminate in a State Championship victory, we couldn’t be prouder of our exceptional student-athletes. Beyond their achievements on the court, the team also scored a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit Google, where they met the CEO and explored exciting career pathways. We extend our deepest gratitude to Coach Payton and Coach Moses for their outstanding leadership and for emphasizing the importance of academic and professional success. Thanks to their dedication, we are committed to forging internship opportunities with Google, ensuring our students continue to thrive both in athletics and beyond.

Learning from a Prominent Leader
ADAM Advisory Board member and Levi Strauss Fit Development Manager Sylvaine Guille delivered an inspiring seminar for ADAM students, offering invaluable guidance on their projects and career paths. With passion and expertise, she emphasized the critical role of education and training in achieving success, applauding ADAM’s commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
Drawing from her extensive experience as an East Bay small business owner and a designer dedicated to social good, Sylvaine shared powerful insights. She highlighted her impactful work training Latina women for careers in the local fashion industry and her efforts in Kenya, where she taught refugee women advanced design and product development skills—empowering them with new opportunities.
Taking a hands-on approach, Sylvaine conducted live fitting demonstrations on students' designs, offering expert feedback on fit, construction, and overall design. She was deeply impressed by the students' collections and provided thoughtful suggestions for refinement. Her visit was both educational and inspiring, leaving a lasting impact on the students.
Thank you to Professors Piazza and Roundtree for organizing this incredible and transformative seminar!
