On Wednesday, March 26, Berkeley City College hosted its annual Community Partners Breakfast. Over 100 counselors, dual enrollment partners, college advisors, and administrators from local high schools and higher education partners attended.

Extended Opportunities Program and Services (EOPS) is a program meant to help you as a student succeed on your academic journey. If you are in need of financial help, EOPS offers aid in the form of book grants, fee waivers, or even free supplies (backpacks, notebooks, binders etc.). EOPS even offers academic help to you for no extra cost.
Student Government Elections - Vote on the AC Transit EasyPass Referendum!

On April 8-9, 2025, Peralta Community College District students will vote for student government representatives and on Proposition A, a referendum to determine the EasyPass program’s future. If approved, it would renew access to unlimited AC Transit bus service—local and Transbay—for all Peralta Community College District students via their EasyPass card.

Volunteers Needed for Peralta's Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee

Dear Peralta Community,
The Peralta Community College District is looking for volunteers to join our Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee. This is a very important committee, responsible for reviewing PCCD bond spending to make sure it complies with the bond language and reporting back to the public via an annual report. Citizens who previously served on this committee have gone on to become elected officials including Trustees and City Councilors.

Peralta Citizen Student Journalists Win Awards

The Peralta Citizen student reporters recently returned from the National Association of Collegiate Presses (NACP) and the Journalism Association of Community Colleges (JACC) joint conference in Long Beach, achieving a remarkable collection of awards. At the March 8, 2025 Board of Trustees meeting, Peralta Community College District Chancellor Dr. Tammeil Gilkerson highlighted the students' exceptional performance, noting it as "one of their most successful showings to date."

Through Partnership with Children Now, College’s MESA Program Aims to Expand by 300% in 3 Years
OAKLAND, CA – Children Now is partnering with Laney College to increase access, mentorship, and career opportunities for STEM students participating in the college’s Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement Program (MESA). Aimed at supporting historically marginalized and underrepresented students, the collaboration will work to strengthen preparation and connections for students pursuing STEM-related careers, as well as increase opportunities for transferring to four-year colleges and universities.
