The Peralta Community College District Children's Centers (located at Laney College & Merritt College) are currently recruiting and enrolling new families with children ages 2-5 years. The centers provide free/low-fee, high-quality childcare.

At the June 23rd Board of Trustees meeting, Student Trustee Ahyan Malik shared that he had been accepted to several prestigious universities – with full scholarship offers - including Yale University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Brian Belt Awarded Ozzie Day Scholarship

Brian Belt first got hooked on automotive repair from watching Fast and Furious movies. And once he started learning about automotive repair at CoA, he was hooked. He is now employed at an Acura dealership and loves to repair vehicles for friends and family whenever he can. He says that this scholarship will help him pursue his academic, professional, and personal goals.

Peralta Launches Foodture Vending Machines

Peralta students now have a new option for convenient, discounted hot meals on campus. In partnership with Peralta District leadership, Foodture, a robotic hot food vending company, has installed hot food vending machines at each campus. Foodture machines offer chef-prepared hot meals for around $5 with easy payment options including credit/debit card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

This is the Year of the Fire Horse, a symbol of energy, courage, and bold transformation. On February 18, Chancellor Dr. Tammeil Gilkerson attended the 50th Annual Association of California Community College Administrators (ACCCA) Conference, which was held in Long Beach. She currently serves on the ACCCA Board as theImmediate Past President, alongside Dr. Ajani Byrd, who is currently serving as the Acting VP of Student Services at Berkeley City College. The conference itself was both celebratory and grounding, marking fifty years of leadership and service across the California community college system.
