The Peralta Community College District Marketing team was thrilled to participate in Welcome Week activities, visiting Berkeley City College, College of Alameda, Laney College, and Merritt College to hand out free college-branded hoodies and t-shirts to students who then modeled them. We had an outstanding turnout, including many returning students from last semester's event. Thank you so much to the 200+ students who modeled for us!
The energy was palpable as students connected with staff, signed release forms, participated in video interviews, and posed for photos that will be used for future marketing efforts, publications like semester schedules and college catalogs, social media, and more. This will let us continue to highlight real students, as we did with our recent "Love Your Future" advertising campaign.
Our signature black hoodies and grey shirts proved to be incredibly popular, with students enthusiastically modeling their new Peralta Colleges gear. The events provided a valuable opportunity to engage with students and build community spirit.

A special thank you goes out to Marcus Creel, Bendi Yilmaz, Joe Sullivan, and Faiza Ali from the district Marketing, Communication & Public Relations department for their exceptional teamwork, along with dedicated student workers Kasey Hernandez and Mia Carter, who expertly managed the table at COA, collected model releases, and distributed the swag. We also had great help from Student Trustee Pierce Byrne at BCC, Chanda Brewer at Laney, and Berenise Herrera & Alejandra Cerda from the Merritt College President's Office. We extend our gratitude to everyone who provided space, assisted with setup, and collaborated with our team to make this event a true success. Alas, all our swag inventory for the academic year has been distributed. The hoodies went really fast! We look forward to hosting another giveaway in Fall 2025. In the meantime, we hope everyone we met has a fantastic semester!
