Meet Dr. Ronald McKinley, Interim Vice Chancellor of Human Resources

During the May 25, 2021 Board of Trustees meeting, the Board approved the appointment of Dr. Ronald McKinley as the Interim Vice Chancellor of Human Resources and Employee Relations. Dr. McKinley had been serving as the Acting VC of HR since December 2020. Dr. McKinley has over 25 years of experience as a Chief Human Resources Officer and more than 35 years of experience in human resources management.

Laney College welcomes Vice President of Instruction Dr. Becky Opsata

On July 1st, 2021, the Laney College team welcomed the new Vice President of Instruction Dr. Becky Opsata. Before joining Laney, Dr Opsata served as Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation at Diablo Valley College for 15 years, and before that at California State University Northridge as faculty member in Communication Studies for 6 years. Dr. Opsata comes to Laney bringing impressive work experience and big plans for the college. On July 7th, one week after being appointed Vice President of Instruction, Dr. Becky Opsata was already engaged in some of her projects for the next year, getting students back to campus.

Mrs. Adesida comes to Peralta College bringing an impressive background. Before joining the Peralta team, she served as a Human Resource Director in an institution in the Silicon Valley. Additionally, Mrs. Adesida served as a Human Resources Manager in other educational institutions to include UC Berkeley and Solano Community College.
