Laney College Awarded Grant to Continue Food Distribution to Students
Last week Laney learned it had been awarded a $44,600 grant from the Alameda County Community Food Bank (ACCFB). The application and subsequent award come thanks to the work of Alfred Brown, Food Services Supervisor; Atiya Rashada, Director of Student Activities and Campus Life; Gary Albury, Associate Dean of Student Success; and Amy Marshall, Laney Facilities and Campus Operations Director. Funding from this grant will support our food distribution operations and relocate our pantry facility.

Flex Day at Berkeley City College
Berkeley City College held its Flex Day virtual event titled “Transforming our Institution to Transform Student Scholar Lives” on Friday, January 21st. Some of the highlights included a student panel on “Life and Learning in a Pandemic,” which included breakout sessions to reflect on changes to student life during the pandemic.

February is Black History Month and Peralta TV will be bringing you its annual slate of great programming highlighting not only groundbreaking black excellence in song and sport, but our own Merritt College's place in history as the birthplace of the Black Panthers.

OAKLAND, Calif., January 27, 2022 -- The Peralta Community College District (PCCD) today learned that Berkeley City College, College of Alameda, Laney College, and Merritt College have received upgraded accreditation status by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC).
PCCD Institutional Research Team Prepares District-Wide Student Survey

The COVID-19 Pandemic has greatly impacted the lives of our communities and students as well as the way we teach and learn. The PCCD Institutional Research team plans to launch a district-wide student survey to capture student needs for entirely online, hybrid (partially online and in-person), and entirely in-person classes.
