College of Alameda Vice President of Student Services Dr. Tina Vasconcellos will receive a commendation letter and presentation for the partnership she secured with World Central Kitchen and Eat.Learn.Play. on behalf of College of Alameda and our students. To date the program at College of Alameda has distributed 67,200 hot meals, 4,680 produce boxes and raised $722,800 for members of our community.
Congresswoman Barbara Lee (if available due to session) and her team will come to campus on October 23, 2020 at 10:30am (before food distribution begins at 11:30) to take a photo and present a letter. We wanted to let the Peralta Community know as soon as possible so we save the date and hopefully attend; as more details from the Congresswoman's office become available we will share them.
From Dr. Vasconcellos:
"I am excited College of Alameda will be recognized! Our partners from World Central Kitchen and Eat.Learn.Play. will also be present. I have to say this partnership really came out of my frustration in not being able to meet the basic needs of our students. It has turned into an amazing partnership and I am just so thankful for our entire team of college volunteers! It is truly a College effort!!!"
