Welcome to the Peralta Colleges – we're glad you’re here! Here's some info that might be useful in your first week of the Fall 2025 Semester.
Parking
Great news – free parking! There will not be a charge for parking in Peralta-owned lots at College of Alameda, Laney College, Merritt College, or the District Service Center. At Berkeley City College, there is not a Peralta-owned lot available, but there are other parking lots nearby, for a fee.
No Parking Permits: For the Fall 2025 semester, we will not be issuing parking permits or stickers. The Department of Community Safety is working on a comprehensive parking compliance system to enhance safety, improve the parking experience, and ensure accountability. We anticipate having this solution in place by Spring 2026.
Welcome Week
Each of the colleges has Welcome Week activities going on all week. You’ll get a lot of information and be able to meet lots of awesome people too when you attend in person. Please check the college websites for details:
Free College T-Shirts
The Peralta Colleges Marketing team will be giving away free t-shirts (while supplies last) to students who sign our model release form and allow us to take pictures and video of you - wearing the swag or not. We want to use these photos for our websites, publications, advertising, and social media. We’ll be at the colleges during Welcome Week, giving out the swag and taking photos & videos. Here's our schedule:
- Laney College - Monday, August 18 - Noon to 2pm
- College of Alameda - Tuesday, August 19 - 11:30am to 1:30pm
- Merritt College - Wednesday, August 20 - 11am - 1pm
- Berkeley City College - Thursday, August 21 - Noon to 2pm
