Below is a written transcript of the video:

"Hello everyone, my name is Pierce Byrne, and I am a Student Trustee at the Peralta Colleges District. I'm proud to be a Student Trustee, as this year I was able to connect with my community on a deeper level and bring their wants and needs to the district-wide level as well as the statewide level. I was also able to give input on resources that students could use in their day-to-day lives as students, such as the Peralta district-wide safety app. I was able to provide input on the district-wide safety app with my fellow student trustee, Sophia Parmigiani, by testing out its new feature "Friend Walk", where we able to see each other's location temporarily, as we made sure that we were able to get to where we wanted to get to safely.

After moving here 3 years ago, I was able to find my community at the Peralta Community College District, where I was able to make friends as well as connections, and I still have students coming up to me asking for advice on my journey through the Peralta College District. When students come up to me with their thoughts and concerns, I make sure they are brought to the forefront of our conversations, with meetings with our chancellor as well as my fellow trustees.

If you want to learn more about the role of student trustees and how you can run for it, you can reach out to your student trustees via Peralta's website, www.peralta.edu/boardoftrustees. You can get information on Board of Trustees members and board meetings. Also, if you have any concerns, you can access board documents and reach out to your Peralta Board of Trustees. I'm proud to be a Student Trustee, and I want to encourage everyone who is interested to run for this position as it is not only a life-changing opportunity, but also a great way to get connected with your community."
