Under the theme “We are the ones we have been waiting for: The LGBTQIA+ CCC Revolution,” this summit invites students, faculty, staff, administrators, and community members to collaborate on enhancing campus environments for LGBTQIA+ students. Participants will engage in dynamic training, hear from inspiring speakers, listen to student testimonials, share innovative ideas, and develop strategies aimed at improving programs and support services, fostering lasting structural changes across CCC campuses to better serve the LGBTQIA+ community.
Peralta Online Equity Conference
We invite you to join us, the Peralta Community College District’s Online Equity Team, for our fifth Equity in Online Learning Conference that will take place virtually from April 14 to 16, 2025. We welcome equity-minded students, educators, staff, and leaders who represent colleges, universities, non-profit organizations, and vendors from all around the world. Our goals are 1) to improve the visibility of efforts to increase learning equity in higher education and 2) to bring together institutions that want to share and adopt equitable practices for all online students globally. Black Student Success Week
Black Student Success Week will take place April 21-25, 2025. This year’s theme is “Lift Up, Level Up: The Rise of Black Serving Institutions.” The 2025 Black Student Success Week will emphasize how we are serving Black and African American students to support and ensure their success in community colleges and beyond. Veterans’ Transition into the Civilian World
The California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office is hosting a virtual training session titled "The Warrior’s Burden: The Truth About Veterans’ Transition into the Civilian World" on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. PDT. This free webinar will explore the often hidden emotional and psychological difficulties veterans encounter when moving from the military's performance- and honor-based culture to civilian life, referencing insights from "The Warrior’s Dilemma" and real-world experiences. Participants will learn to identify symptoms of the shame response, understand the psychological impact of warrior conditioning, and gain practical strategies to compassionately support veterans dealing with potential feelings of shame, loss of purpose, and identity struggles, ultimately equipping attendees to advocate effectively for veterans during their transition.
