Berkeley City College Visual Arts Student Wins Berkeley PSA Art Contest

Berkeley City College Visual Arts student Jerry Hsiao won first prize in the BCC Art Contest sponsored by the BCC Public Health Club, and funded by the Community Health Education Institute and the City of Berkeley. Club members focus on sugar-sweetened beverage education on the health hazards of sugar, advocacy, and art contests through grants from the Sugar-Sweetened Beverage tax from the City of Berkeley.

Berkeley City College Educational Master Plan-DREAMing 5 Years Out

The Accreditation Commission for Community & Junior Colleges (ACCJC) sets and evaluates the standards for the California Community College system. BCC’s most recent accreditation peer-team site visit and Institutional Self-Evaluation Report (ISER) highlighted many of the college’s previous strategic priorities, such as growth in Dual Enrollment, increase in equitable transfer rates, growth in career education programs, and comprehensive academic and student supports.

Berkeley City College held two graduation ceremonies to celebrate the Class of 2022. BCC’s Virtual Graduation ceremony was held live on YouTube on Thursday, May 26. Over 650 students were recognized for receiving degrees, certificates, and noncredit completion.

Berkeley City College’s Multimedia Film & Art Department hosted a showcase of student works Wednesday, May 5. It was the first in-person showcase in two years with students and faculty gathering to appreciate the artwork created by students. Berkeley City College hosted its First Annual Career Fair on Thursday, April 7. The event was organized by Hispanic Serving Institution Director Verónica Montoya, Outreach Program Specialist Christine Trowbridge, and FDIP Counseling Intern Angelica Peña. The all-day event engaged students in creating career pathways and prepared them for life in the workforce.
