The June Steingart Gallery at Laney College buzzed with creative energy on Wednesday, March 5th, as the Peralta community gathered to celebrate the opening reception of "CLAY PAPER WOOD." This  exhibition, showcasing the diverse talents of over 20 advanced students from Laney's Ceramics, Printmaking, and Wood Technology classes, proved to be a resounding success. The exhibition opened on February 18th and runs through March 28th. Go see the work when you can!

Attendees were treated to a stunning display of handcrafted works, each reflecting the skill of Laney's art students. Many of the featured pieces were available for purchase, offering a unique opportunity to support local artists and acquire exceptional handcrafted art.

The reception provided a wonderful opportunity for students, faculty, and community members to connect and appreciate the artistry on display. Laney faculty member and June Steingart Gallery manager Susanna Stromberg extended special thanks to the dedicated instructors who guided and inspired these talented students: Ceramics instructor and Art Department Chair, MC Bassett; Printmaking instructor and Full-time Art Faculty, Alex Echeverria; and Wood Technology instructor and Department Chair, Myron Franklin. The striking poster design by Ian Erlich (@poopoopupp) also contributed significantly to the exhibition's visual appeal.
