Groundbreaking Ceremony and Block Party Marked the College’s 50th Anniversary
BERKELEY, Calif., April 24, 2024 – Celebration hit Center Street in Berkeley the afternoon of Tuesday, April 23, as the community and Berkeley City College (BCC), the Peralta Community College District, and Peralta’s Bond Program, “Build Peralta” celebrated 50 years of BCC history and the groundbreaking of a new building at 2118 Milvia Street that symbolized the future of the campus.

College of Alameda Students Explore Historic HBCUs and Landmarks
During the week of March 24, 2024, members of the College of Alameda community, including faculty, classified professionals, and administrators, embarked on a transformative journey accompanying students on a tour of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Basic Needs Awareness Week
The Berkeley City College Basic Needs Awareness Week ran from April 15 through April 18. BCC’s Basic Needs Center hosted a series of events providing information and basic needs resources available to all Berkeley City College students.
Laney College hosted the 2024 Coast Conference Track & Field Championship this past Saturday, competing for a chance to advance to the Northern California Championships on May 3rd & 4th. The Eagles had several impressive performances, walking away with medals in several events.
Students are invited to attend a series of workshops focused on resources and support for Black and African American students.
The Peralta Community College District and the California Community Colleges system announce the return of Black Student Success Week, April 22-26, celebrating its fifth year! This year’s theme is Building a Better Future Together: the Urgency is Now.
