Let's welcome Dr. Shalamon Duke as the new Dean of Counseling and Special Programs at College of Alameda.
Dr. Shalamon Duke received a doctorate degree from the University of Southern California in Educational Leadership, master’s degree from San Diego State University in Rehabilitation Counseling, and bachelor’s from Grambling State University in English. Dr. Duke also holds a certificate in Rehabilitation Engineering.

Dr. Shalamon Duke has been involved in education for over 15 years as a community college administrator. He has focused on issues of disability, accessibility, student success, technology and retention. Additionally, his research has been focused on the course taking patterns of students and how these may or may not lead towards successful outcomes, including the disparity of success amongst college-going students based on their socioeconomic environment.
Dr. Duke is a co-founder African American Male Education Network and Development (A2MEND) and a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated.
