A Primary Election is coming up in Alameda County on June 2, 2026.  Please vote!

You can register to vote if you are:

• A United States citizen and a resident of California
• 18 years old or older on Election Day
• Not currently in a state or federal prison for the conviction of a felony
• Not currently found mentally incompetent to vote by a court

If you are already a registered voter in Alameda County, you should have received a vote by mail ballot. Please fill out and mail your ballot as soon as possible; don't put it off. Because of recent changes in how the USPS postmarks letters, we encourage you to mail in your completed ballot by May 28th, to ensure it is postmarked and counted by June 2nd. 

And of course you can vote in-person on or before June 2nd!

If you are NOT already registered to vote,  the deadline to register to vote was May 18, 2026, however, you still have an opportunity to vote in the Primary Election. Register online NOW and take your voter registration or receipt with you to your county elections office or a voting location. This is called "Same Day Voter Registration" and more info about that process is below. 

If you are a military or overseas voter or a voter with a disability and you are not able to vote in person at your county elections office or a voting location, please contact your County Elections Office at https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/voting-resources/county-elections-offices.

Same Day Voter Registration, also known as Conditional Voter Registration in state law, is a safety net for Californians who miss the deadline to register to vote or update their voter registration information for an election.

Eligible citizens who need to register or re-register to vote within 14 days of an election can complete this process to register and vote at their county elections office, polling place, or vote center. Their ballots will be processed and counted once the county elections office has completed the voter registration verification process.
