October is National Substance Abuse Prevention Month, and at the Peralta Colleges, we want to take a moment to talk about something important: your well-being.
We understand that life can be stressful, and sometimes people turn to drugs or alcohol to cope. But the truth is, these substances can have serious consequences for your health, relationships, and even your future.
Here at the Peralta Community College District, which includes Berkeley City College, College of Alameda, Laney College, and Merritt College, we're committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for everyone. That includes providing resources to help you make healthy choices.
We know that sometimes, making positive changes can feel overwhelming. If you're struggling with drug or alcohol use, you're not alone. There are people who care about you and want to help.
Employees may access information about drug and alcohol intervention programs and treatment programs 24x7 through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at (800) 999-7222 or visit https://www.anthemeap.com/sisc. The Employee Assistance Program is a supportive resource available to PCCD employees through SISC, Self-Insured Schools of California.
