KGPC has had a long-held dream of having a live music show in its programming lineup called "Teeny Tiny Mic". For those who aren’t familiar, National Public Radio (NPR) has a show titled "Tiny Desk", a video series of live concerts hosted by NPR Music at the desk of former All Songs Considered host Bob Boilen in Washington, D.C. KGPC wanted its own local version of this music show, particularly since the Bay Area is burgeoning with musical talent hence, Teeny Tiny Mic.

Here in the East Bay, we live in an earthquake zone, so it’s important that we all know what to do to keep as safe as possible during a quake. The Great California Shakeout on October 17, 2024, at 10:17am, is an opportunity to test our emergency preparedness in case of an earthquake. On that day and time, the Peralta Community College District will test our emergency communication system, Rave, by sending you all a text and email message advising you of the Great Shakeout emergency earthquake test.

OAKLAND, CA, Sept. 18, 2024 – Laney College Environmental Control Technology Department received a $100,000 grant for the third year as part of the Johnson Controls Community College Partnership Program. Laney College Continues to Address Food Insecurity Through New Food Pantry
Laney’s Basic Needs Center and Food Services are proud to announce that support for students continues with its Food Pantry, a permanent space in the Student Center opening in Fall 2020. Using a “grab and go” consumer model, students have access to needed nutrition and will be able to get food in a way that destigmatizes food insecurity.
