The Peralta Community College District is excited to announce the first-ever Peralta Pumpkin Pursuit, a 5K run/walk fundraiser to benefit the Peralta Colleges Foundation. This event aims to bring our community together for a fun, active day while raising crucial funds to support our students and educational programs. 

The event will take place at Merritt College on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Whether you're an avid runner or prefer a leisurely walk, this 5K is the perfect opportunity to get some exercise, enjoy the beautiful campus and stunning views in the Oakland Hills, and contribute to a worthy cause. 

All proceeds from the Peralta Pumpkin Pursuit will go directly to the Peralta Colleges Foundation, which provides scholarships, academic support, and innovative programs for students at Berkeley City College, College of Alameda, Laney College, and Merritt College. Your participation will make a tangible difference in the lives of students. 

Peralta Community College District Deputy Chancellor and COO Greg Nelson commented, “Wear a costume if you want. It’s all good fun and for a great cause, helping students with scholarships, support services, and meeting basic needs.” 

We invite all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to join us for the inaugural Peralta Pumpkin Pursuit 5K. Bring your children – a shorter 1-mile course for kids 12 and under is offered too!
