Dear Peralta Community,
I'm pleased to announce that Dr. Tina Vasconcellos, Associate Vice Chancellor of Educational Services at the Peralta Community College District, has been selected to participate in community college leadership professional development and has received a scholarship for in-person training costs.
The Wheelhouse Advancing Leaders Institute (ALI) supports aspiring community college CEOs as they develop adaptive leadership capacity, fluency in facilitating conversations and decisions that improve racial equity and social justice, expertise in strategic communications, and acumen in using data and research to inform good decisions. Mastery of these skills is critical preparation for ascendancy as a CEO. The institute pays particular attention to the capacities necessary for success in California.
As part of the ALI inaugural cohort, Dr. Vasconcellos received a scholarship to participate in eight days of face-to-face leadership development at UC Davis and UCLA, interspersed with several virtual sessions. The ALI is funded by the Institutional Effectiveness Partnership Initiative (California Community College Chancellor’s Office) and the ECMC Foundation.
Congratulations Dr. Vasconcellos!
All the best,
Mark
