What a wonderful District-wide Flex Day on Thursday, August 23, 2021!

 

Thanks to Dr. Inger Stark (Staff Development Officer) for planning an informative day of talks and professional development sessions. 

 

Thanks also to the 381 people who attended the Flex Day Plenary Session – record attendance for a District Flex Day session! Officially, there were 594 total “attendees” (381 unique) with 345 as the maximum logged in concurrently.

 

Dr. Jannett N. Jackson, Interim Chancellor, gave an informative and inspiring “Welcome” which is available on YouTube here. Dr. Jackson told the story of “Ubuntu” that was part of her August 13th update. Among many topics, she provided a recap of the special reports responding to ACCJC, FCMAT, and the Alameda County Grand Jury. She then briefed us on the COVID vaccination policy and all the work that has been done to prepare the campuses for classes beginning on August 23rd. Chancellor Jackson’s talk was followed by a Leadership Panel featuring Dr. Donald Moore (President, District Academic Senate), Dr. Jennifer Shanoski (President, Peralta Federation of Teachers), Dr. Ronald McKinley (Interim Vice Chancellor, Human Resources and Employee Relations), Atheria Smith (Interim Vice Chancellor, General Services), Dr. Siri Brown (Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs and Student Success), and Antoine Mehouelley (Chief Technology and Information Officer).
