Community Forum on Race, Security, and Policing

On June 23, 2020, Peralta Community College District hosted a Community Forum to discuss the intersection of race with security and policing service. Community input is very important to Peralta Community College District as we reimagine and update the way campus security and law enforcement is managed by the District.  Speakers included:

  • Dr. Regina Stanback Stroud, Chancellor, PCCD
  • Dr. Leigh Sata, Vice Chancellor of General Services, PCCD
  • Dr. Kimberly Mayfield Lynch, Black Women Organized for Political Action; Dean, School of Education, Holy Names University
  • Rev. Cheryl Ward, Community Leader
  • Dr. Lawrence VanHook, President, Peralta Association of African American Affairs
  • Mr. Chris Iglesias, CEO, The Unity Council
  • Ms. Anne Janks, Organizer, Coalition for Police Accountability
  • Mr. Mark Johnson, Moderator, Marketing, Communication & Public Relations PCCD
