Alameda Economic Forecast Event
On September 26th, CoA Administrators, Faculty, and Staff participated in the Alameda Economic Forecast Event, where leaders from various industries shared valuable insights on the region’s economic climate, recent changes, and necessary steps for future growth. Chancellor Gilkerson represented the Peralta District on the panel, delivering an impactful message on the necessity for sustained collaboration between local industries and Community Colleges. She noted partnership as essential for developing programs that align with workforce needs and effectively support our community.
The team also heard from State Treasurer Fiona Ma and State Controller Malia Cohen, who shared their perspectives on the state's fiscal health. Their expertise added depth to the discussion and highlighted the importance of a robust economic framework for Alameda’s future. CoA is looking forward to engaging our industry, governmental, and educational partners to prepare students for jobs of the future.
