The Peralta Community College District was well-represented at the Classified Leadership Institute 2024 Conference in Riverside from June 5th - 7th. Peralta attendees included:
- Hope Lane and Katrina Santos, the President and Vice President of the Laney College Classified Senate
- Angela Kimble and Louie Matirez, President-Elect and Senator from the College of Alameda Classified Senate
- Jamille Teer from the District Service Center Dept of General Services, who is the newly elected Region 8 Representative to the California Community Colleges Classified Senate.
Katrina, Hope, and Jamille led a presentation called “Professional Development: What’s Next?” which was a continuation of their 2023 CLI Presentation, “Professional Development: How to Plan and Fund a Successful Event”. In this year's presentation, the team discussed securing funding via the IEPI or Institutional Effectiveness Partnership Initiative, as well as creating and maintaining a Professional Development Committee. The team's session had over 40 participants.
