Classified Leadership Institute 2024 Conference

The Peralta Community College District was well-represented at the Classified Leadership Institute 2024 Conference in Riverside from June 5th - 7th. Peralta attendees included: 

  • Hope Lane and Katrina Santos, the President and Vice President of the Laney College Classified Senate 
  • Angela Kimble and Louie Matirez, President-Elect and Senator from the College of Alameda Classified Senate 
  • Jamille Teer from the District Service Center Dept of General Services, who is the newly elected Region 8 Representative to the California Community Colleges Classified Senate.  

Katrina, Hope, and Jamille led a presentation called “Professional Development: What’s Next?” which was a continuation of their 2023 CLI Presentation, “Professional Development: How to Plan and Fund a Successful Event”. In this year's presentation, the team discussed securing funding via the IEPI or Institutional Effectiveness Partnership Initiative, as well as creating and maintaining a Professional Development Committee. The team's session had over 40 participants.

Peralta Community College District Chancellor, Dr. Tammeil Gilkerson, commented, "It is great to see more Peralta Thought Leadership being shared among classified professionals across the state!"
