College of Alameda celebrated its graduates with both a virtual event and an in-person celebration.

The live event was attended by Board President Dr. Cindi Napoli-Abella Reiss and Interim Chancellor Dr. Jannett N. Jackson among other VIPs. In her speech to the graduates, Chancellor Jackson noted:

"I am reminded of the myth of the phoenix. According to legend, the phoenix was a bird that did not lay eggs, but rather would burst into flames, emerging from the ashes as a beautiful new creature. It is a symbol of renewal, of re-generation. I believe you are emerging from your studies at the Peralta Colleges like a brilliant new being, a phoenix, ready to take on the world. I am so proud of you!"
