How do you offer mental health support and therapy during a pandemic? You have to pivot!
While traditional ways of doing therapy have shifted, the Berkeley City College Wellness Center is offering mental health services to students via Zoom. BCC is fortunate to have a four mental health providers, three trainees, and a licensed supervisor, a team that is committed to being in service to our most vulnerable students.
The Wellness Center offers a variety of resources, including:
- The Keep Calm and Stay Home Toolkit - published during Spring.
- Supportive Virtual Space
- Wellness Hangouts - Creating Community in a Pandemic - Thursdays at 3pm
- Black Coffee Sessions - Umoja Learning Community
- 3rd Solidarity in Mental Health Summit (Virtual) - TBA
Additionally, the Roots Community Health Clinic (rootsclinic.org) is offering virtual and physical medical appointments, as well as local COVID-19 briefings on social media. Be sure to check their website for additional details.
Peralta knows that its students are remarkable and determined to complete their education, and encourages students across campuses to take advantages of the supportive services all colleges offer. Learn more about the mental health support available at your campus by visiting the District website.
