With a triumphant return to fully in-person celebrations, Berkeley City College celebrated its graduating class on May 24, 2023. The commencement ceremony was held at Zellerbach Hall at UC Berkeley and included speeches from BCC President Dr. Angelica Garcia, Board of Trustees member Dyana Delfín Polk, and Valedictorian Parneet Virk. In her speech to her fellow graduates, Virk shared these words of wisdom:
"Celebrating our accomplishments, we must also recognize that hope is what has driven us here. Hope is knowing that there is something wonderful and promising awaiting each of us. Taking the next steps, remember the support we received, the friendships we built, and the transformative power of education. Pay it all forward, and hold with you the spirit of hope and resilience."
