Welcome to the Spring 2022 semester at the Peralta Colleges! We are so glad to have students back in person and online this semester for classes and student services.
Berkeley City College, College of Alameda, Laney College and Merritt College each held "Welcome Week" special events all week to help students navigate our "new normal" on campus. These events often included free food and drink and helped to familiarize students with important programs and services available at each of the colleges.
In order to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible, all students and employees are required to abide by the Peralta Vaccination Policy which can be found on Safe Peralta, our public safety website.
Students accessing in-person courses (including hybrid) and face-to-face services (for example, the library, counseling, tutoring, etc.) are required to upload proof of full vaccination, unless they have a pre-approved medical or religious exemption on file with the District. Proof of vaccination or exemption must be uploaded at least five (5) working days in advance of coming onto campus. Students taking 100% online classes are not required to upload vaccination proof unless they come to campus for any reason.
Campus Solutions:
At least five days before you come to campus, upload your proof of vaccination information in Campus Solutions at https://sa.peralta.edu. Instructions for entering your vaccination status on Campus Solutions here. Video instructions can be found here. Remember to use your student ID and student email address (your ID# followed by @cc.peralta.edu) so your documentation is linked to your student record. Instructions for students with approved exemptions to enter their weekly COVID-19 test here. Video instructions can be found here.
Campus Shield:
Before coming to campus, please download the Campus Shield App, which is available in Google Play and the Apple App Store. Register the app using your student email address (your student number @cc.peralta.edu).
Before you leave for campus, open Campus Shield and take the COVID Health Assessment, which are a few questions.
When you arrive at campus, check in at one of the many Welcome locations staffed by BrightStar Healthcare professionals. There are lots of signs showing the way, and campus security officers will also help point you in the right direction to check in. At the Welcome station:
For help with the Campus Shield app, check the Student FAQ here. Instructions for the mobile app are available here. Instructions for the desktop app are available here. The screening questions for daily access are available here.
And that's it! Once you've checked in you are able to proceed to your classroom or take advantage of student services. And if you do need help with uploading your vaccination info, taking the Campus Shield COVID Health Assessment, or requesting an exemption from the vaccination policy, the BrightStar Healthcare staff is there to help.
These safeguards are in place to help ensure the health and safety of everyone who enters campus. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we move forward with in-person learning this Semester.
