Did you know that as part of a CoA library subscription, Peralta students, faculty, and staff can access the New York Times for free?

By setting up an account using your @peralta.edu email address, you will receive off-campus access to the New York Times website and mobile app (please note this does not include the tablet-based NYT app).

Here’s how access a free subscription:

  1. In a web browser, visit www.NYTimes.com/Pass
  2. Click on "Create Account"
  3. Enter your @peralta.edu email address and create a password
  4. New York Times will send you an email verification. Go to that email and click on the link
  5. Let them know if you are a Student (and your estimated year of graduation) or Faculty

If you have trouble getting signed up or logging in, visit the following website:

You can also get help from a librarian via e-mail at coa-reference@peralta.edu or via live chat using the "Chat with a Librarian" link on the Library Webpage.

Please Note:

If you wish to subscribe for free but already have a paid account through your Peralta email, change the email address on your existing subscription and create a new account with your Peralta email. The Academic Pass is valid for one year. After 364 days you will get a reminder to renew your pass as long as you still have your @peralta.edu email address.
