Chancellor Gilkerson and President Richardson Featured in Women in Construction Week Video

Berkeley City College’s construction partner Kitchell led a tour of the Berkeley City College West campus site during Women in Construction Week. The video highlighted the all-female leadership team made up of PCCD Chancellor Tammeil Gilkerson, BCC President Denise Richardson, Kitchell Project Manager Camille Harden, and Ratcliff Principal Patricia Alarcón. They each shared their perspectives on the collaborative process and the impact of women in the industry. Watch the video here.

“Our collective work has been inspired by our individual experiences as women working in positions that have not always been open to us,” said President Richardson. “Both Camille and Patricia are such experienced professionals, that it’s been really fun engaging from the lens of our respective expertise in education, design, and instruction, and coming together to make sure our new building reflects the best of our collective efforts.”

The six-story, 60,000-square-foot BCC West campus will feature state-of-the-art classrooms, faculty spaces, student services, and a rooftop deck and is slated to open in the Fall of 2026.
