How to Enroll in Spring 2026 Classes at the Peralta Colleges

Written by Cassandra L. Hernandez | Dec 1, 2025 10:06:34 PM

As the Spring 2026 semester approaches, common questions that all students ask are:

“What classes should I enroll in?”

“How do I find the class(es) I want?”

“How do I enroll?”

Thankfully, we have a variety of tools at your disposal, as well as friendly staff who are ready to help you enroll in college! Every semester, the Peralta Community College District updates its website to feature a PDF class schedule for the new term. The PDF contains all the essential information for enrollment. Inside, a table of contents guides you to everything you may need - scholarship information, important deadlines, enrollment periods, and even a map of our beautiful campus. Think of the Class Schedule as your ultimate guide throughout your academic journey within the Peralta system.

The most important part of this handbook is the Course Offerings section. At first glance, flipping or scrolling through the pages may feel a bit overwhelming, but you'll find a helpful key explaining how to read the course listings.

Once you understand the format, it’s time to find the classes you want. The schedule shows the days and times, material fees, course titles, and whether the class is transferable to CSUs and UCs. Although COA works hard to provide the most up-to-date information, the PDF may occasionally contain outdated details - such as changed materials, class availability, or other specific enrollment details.

For that reason, the online course information will always be the most accurate and is the only way to officially enroll in your classes. Once you’ve decided on your courses, it’s time to enroll! The process is simple once you know how to navigate the Peralta Student Portal. After logging in, click Campus Solutions, which will take you to the Student Homepage. Scroll down to Manage Classes, then select Class Search and Enroll, choosing the Spring 2026 semester. Do not select any other term, as those classes will not be available for enrollment. Be sure to read any displayed messages. Some course names have changed, so it is best to confirm whether your desired course is on that list.

You can search for your classes in many ways and even filter the results to see only online (asynchronous or synchronous) or in-person classes. You can also select which Peralta campus you’d like to study at – students attending any of the Peralta Colleges may enroll in classes at another Peralta campus. After hitting Search, you’ll see a list of available sections. If you applied filters earlier, they will be reflected here. Choose the option that best fits your schedule, budget, and availability needs. Once you select a class, you’ll move through four steps:

  1. Class Review: Confirm this is the correct course, time, and section.
  2. Review Class Preferences: If you have a Permission Number, enter it here. If you don’t, you may still choose to join the waitlist if the class is full.
  3. Enroll or Add to Cart: This is crucial—make sure you select Enroll. If not, the class may only appear in your shopping cart and you will not be enrolled. (You are welcome to add classes to your shopping cart while you are deciding which classes to take for the semester.)
  4. Review and Submit: Check the information one last time. If everything looks right, click Submit to proceed to the Confirmation Page.

After submitting, one of two things will happen:

  • Success: A green check mark appears next to the course name, meaning the class has been added to your schedule. You can then log out or continue enrolling in additional classes.
  • Unsuccessful Enrollment: A red “X” appears. This may mean that the class is full and you chose not to join the waitlist, or that you do not meet the prerequisites with a passing grade. If this happens, you may retake or enroll in the required prerequisite courses or meet with your academic counselor for support.

We hope this guide has been helpful to all students—whether you’re an incoming freshman or returning to continue your studies. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact an academic counselor. For any technical issues with the Peralta Portal, please contact the IT Department or send a helpdesk ticket to receive assistance.
