Hello, Peralta Family!
I want to welcome you to the Peralta Colleges for the Fall 2024 semester. As you prepare for this semester, I want to share some vital information regarding parking.
Great news – free parking! There will not be a charge for parking in Peralta-owned lots at College of Alameda, Laney College, Merritt College, or the District Service Center. At Berkeley City College, there is not a Peralta-owned lot available. Employees should check with the BCC business office for parking information.
No Parking Permits: For the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters, we will not be issuing parking permits or stickers. The Department of Public Safety is working on a comprehensive parking compliance system to enhance safety, improve the parking experience, and ensure accountability. We anticipate having this solution in place by Summer or Fall 2025.
Parking Guidelines:
- Use District Parking Lots: Please use district-owned parking lots when available.
- ADA Parking: Only Park in ADA-designated spaces if you have the proper tags.
- Reserved Spots: Do not park in reserved spots unless they are assigned to you.
The Department of Public Safety is exploring an overarching parking compliance system to enhance safety, improve your parking experience, and add needed accountability. Rest assured, we are committed to your well-being and anticipate having a comprehensive solution in place by the Summer or Fall of 2025. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work toward a better parking solution for everyone.
